wow..if your going habitual and have alot that you want then at least 7-8 months prior to it..look up on preparation weddings on the internet it helps alot..excellent luck and congrats on the date
i would start slow aptly now. keep your eyes open for sales when its off wedding season. small by small buy stuff that is on sale that you know your gonna need. trust me, i had an 8 month long engagment and i am barely making dead lines and i started the day after my engagment.
I will suggest going to Theknot.com…They have a month by month calendar from now to when the wedding date is of a long long long to do list…It’s awesome. They have so many different tools on there that help organize everything. Start now imagining what type of wedding you want. The themes, colors and so forth. They will take it from there. Then if you have an thought, you can always start looking at stuff when things are on sale. Alot of places need a year of an advance, but most of the time, especially since you aren’t getting married in the middle of wedding season, you shouldn’t need btu 6-8 months to really schedule everything. But it never hurts to start early!
As soon as possible! With more time you will be less stressed out by getting everything under control. I started preparation mine 2 years out to make sure I got everything I wanted.
I honestly feel it’s never too early to start preparation your wedding. I would make a detailed list of everything that you want and or dreamed of having at your wedding, obviously within budget and or reasoning. That way you can make sure you can take your time and really plot your wedding. You should book your wedding reception this year so that way you get this year’s pricing instead of next year’s. It makes a huge difference having all that extra time to plot it than waiting until the very last few months. I loved preparation mine for a year and a half. I have to be honest even with that amount of time I felt I was still stressed. Have fun preparation! and Congrats!
We started reserving vendors 18 months in advance. We’re now a year out and have only a few vendors left to book. Depending on where you live venues and other vendors book up pretty early, so I’d start doing research now if I were you. Also if you reserve now, you may lock in 2009 prices for your wedding.
Start in October 2009, one year before your wedding.
Have you seen the wedding checklist and budget calculator at the Knot? See on the left, under "preparation tools."

i know my wedding is soon, but i dunno when the date it and i sure as heck haven’t started to plot it. so i’m assuming your safe…lol
gowns usually take 6 weeks or MORE to receive… so as long as you order your gown 2 months beforehand, you’re safe!
I would say in January.
Don’t forget to take time for gift registries to get the things you and your hubby want. That website also has some preparation help and thoughts.Mega helpful and it can keep you organized.
