We had a Southern themed wedding as well (I'm from VA, he's from MD - all of my family is from GA and TN). Anyway, we had "Southern Cuisine" - fried chicken, fried catfish, mac and cheese, greens, biscuits and cornbread, etc. - served in silver chaffing dishes, sweet iced tea, and lemonade. In terms of decorations, we kept it habitual with a contemporary flair (colors were hunter green and white). Everyone loved it and commented on the decorations and food.
