I have done some research on wedding preparation as a job, and from what I have been told stay in hospitality. If you were to do catering at a hotel, it would give you many contacts which would later help you as you established your affair as a wedding planner. Plus the hospitality industry would also help you to learn many of the things that would be useful as a wedding or event planner. Besides having a 4 year degree would look a lot more impressive to potential clients then a certificate from a trade school.
