in florida for a 5 hr reception u are looking about 275-800

275 is just basic speakers no decore no illumination nothing just a dj dressed up but no tux and doing his thing

800 dressed in a tux has several props games going to also be a mc in the event has illumination and is going to make sure your guests requests get played and also will have a few meetings with you before your event

if you found a dj thats say will do it for 700 be like hmm thanks but i found a dj that will do the same for 475 if u can give me a better price i will book you aptly now. even if there is no second dj i did it at my sisters wedding and went froma dj that the package was going to be 775 and paid 250.00 for everything they just wanted a event. you might have to also sign a paper so he can bring clients to see him in action for a hr you will not even see these people or notice them they will come in see how he does his thing and leave. so worth the money saver

$150-$300 ~ IPOD or play of minutes on a boom box
    $300-$500 ~ CD’s on a computer
$600-$800 ~ DJ equipment counting additional speakers
$1,000 and above ~ DJ equipment, light show, entertainment

Lower range dj’s usually only play music while mid range and higher will be able to follow your itinerary or help where needed

Well, if you want a excellent DJ, they run around 600-900$$ If you are loaded with money, there are DJs that start at $1000.
Also, there are cheaper DJs, but normally don’t have a lot of experience and options wwith their service, which cost about $300

I JUST booked my DJ in PA. He is $750. a small more than what I wanted and originally plotted to pay, but a couple others were already booked, and I don’t want to leave my reception in the hands of someone that might not make my day memorable!

  7. ? Mrs. T to Be ? says:

I lived on the border of Ohio/Michigan (Go bucks)… and we’re looking at around $650 for our DJ. But we haven’t chose anything yet.

I’m a DJ and I typically get about $1000 for a wedding ceremony and reception with no illumination… 4 hours.

Prices very by market, day of the week, time of the year, particular services requested, and the talent of the DJ. You don’t get the same service for lower prices. I charge less than $500 for jr high dances because I don’t plot ahead for a jr high dance. I just print out the billboard top 40 for that week and pepper in some party classics. If that’s the level of service you want for your wedding, then a $500 dj might be fantastic for you.

Even if, if you want a particular feeling for your wedding or not the typical party music, or not the mean wedding then you’ll have to pay more than the typical or mean price. The first question is, what do you want from your DJ? Then the answer to your question is, what is that worth to you?
