I like the sites that offer
    1. At least 100-200 pictures of everything [dresses, Hair, Makeup, flowers, cakes, venue decor], we LOVE PICS…… It’s like don’t tell me about it, show me! The more pics the better!

    2. Wedding Budget Calculator

    3. Free wedding website (at first I didn’t care, but it really helps a lot)

    4. Scrapbook to save thoughts and photos I liked

    5. Venue, Photographers, DJs, Bands, Videographers, Limo Service, Hotel & Attractions for [my] city and disorder of wedding and reception.

    6. Honeymoon destinations

    7. Forum that offers us Brides and Grooms a place to talk and question questions like on Y! Answers.

    8. Color coordinating thoughts [Show pictures of weddings in all the hottest colors ex. Tiffany Blue, Pinks, Greens, oranges, purples].

    9. Invitation, gifts, favors thoughts and sites to order from if not directly from the site like weddingchannel.com [they have an online store].

    10. Articles for top questions.
    Based on the questions we question on yahoo there could be some articles that include;
    a. Dumping my bridesmaids or groomsmen
    b. Do I need a flower girl/ring bearer and how ancient?
    c. Dressing for your shape
    d. How to tell the bride she is being a Bridezilla (I like those questions)
    e. What Type of Ceremony or Reception should I have
    f. ****How to budget [What to cut/keep]****
    g. What are the most well loved themes, dress styles, etc
    h. How to stay cool
    i. How to write out an invitation, thank you card or announcement
    j. Basically take notes from the most well loved Y! Answers questions and answers.

    11. Wedding/Reception/Honeymoon Checklist

    12. Wedding Guest List

I know this is long, but I have ran across so many sites that seem excellent at first but don’t offer everything a stressed bride needs.

    I visit: Weddingchannel.com, mywedding.com and theknot.com

For me, it’s not articles, it’s PICTURES! I always go to theknot.com because they have so many galleries and I get inspiration from that. Pictures of centerpieces, bouquets, dresses, cakes, pictures by color, pictures by theme. The only articles I really got into were on invitation etiquette & wording, because i had no thought where to start.

I have been on a quest to find right budget-related articles/suggestions for preparation a wedding…while I appreciate some of the cost cutting tips I have found- Y!A has been more of a resource than any of the wedding websites out there.

On the same token, I also use the various wedding pages for photos- to either confirm an thought or have me realize I am out of the ball park.

One area of advice I’ve found only here is dealing with some of the right family issues that arise during what is supposed to be a drama-free event. My case isn’t so unique- my step dad and dad can’t be in the same disorder let alone the same room…our money is tight and our "dream wedding" could get lost in it…and then there are the usual bridesmaids/maid of honor diva issues I want to feel more prepared for…

The "its your day…do whatever you want"…while right…is getting ancient- I would like some REAL answers.

Frankly, I reckon what’s most needed - and most rare in these sorts of sites - is genuine, educated etiquette advice. Many brides reckon it’s a drag, and sites have to pander to their sponsors in order to bring in the cash, so they give really lousy advice that amounts to nothing more than "It’s YOUR DAY! Buy as much crap as possible or people will laugh at you!!!"

Frankly, I always snort at people who cite money-making websites (yes, this includes the knot) as their etiquette sources. You’ve GOT to be kidding me.

  7. Brown Eyed Girl says:

When I go to a wedding website I am looking for the full spectrum of the wedding. Most sites specialize in one specific thing, or they dont consider that not all brides can spend tons of money. A touch that makes you feel special. I reckon that theknot.com is helpful because it lets you use it to do the guest list, table setting, and you get a free wedding web page. I would absolutely like a site that had a whole bunch of wedding song thoughts. I have yet to find one site that had a ton of fantastic thoughts for wedding songs. A special section for father/daughter, mother/son, first dance song thoughts, songs for the reception in general etc. I like the opportunity to share thought, so I reckon a message board where you can question questions is fantastic especially when they are categorized. I also would like a site where you could get vendors for your city, the only problem is I live in Dayton Oh, a huge city but not one of the largest in ohio, so if i want to look for a vendor I can only get lists from cincinnati, cleveland, columbus. So that is basically what I am saying, I am looking for user freindly, specialize, full spectrum, lots of thoughts, lots of how to guides, thoughts for brides that can spend 100-1000000 dollars on a wedding.

    Hope that helps!
