Your job is to find out what kind of music people want to hear, specifically the bride and groom. Keep the party going, not only you will be the DJ but the MC which means you do anything you can to keep the people pleased, on their feet, and dancing. The Bride and groom may have some thoughts too, it is their party, so start by going to them first.
get the theme song the first dance song see what the bride want to happen get a schedule on what they want to happen like if they have a father daughter dance or the first dance just question what they want and how they want it to go from the time the reception start to the time it end so if its 3:00pm -9:00pm have it plotted every second so there will be no dull moment see what type of music they want like; rock, oldies, r&b, or so on

well, just act like urself but just be more alert and responsible.

Have them give you a list of songs they want for sure played..
First Dance, Father Daughter, Doller Dance, etc…
Make sure to acknowledge the parents..The brides most likely paid for the event so thank them…
Best man and maid of honor speeches and bride and groom speak..
After all that..No lapses in the songs…If no one is on the dance floor..End the song and switch to another…
Make sure there are some polkas in the mix for the grown-up womens….
just to make sure the music is played different types for the crowd that is there also that no dj equip. is in the way of anyones path also to keep all the liveliness of the party stays also he or she needs to look professional not ghetto with chains and gold and tight clothes on. Because this represents you!!!!!
