I wasn’t going to use one until someone said this to me……As the Bride you miss everything. The look of your guests faces when you walk into the room, your bridesmaids and flower girls walking in. This is a touch for you and your future family. Plus some family members and friends won’t be around forever you will have this video for many memories:)

So they can make a living. No other reason is needed.

A video captures people’s reactions, their emotions, their voice and their movements. Unlike a picture, which captures one single moment, a video captures many moments.

I reckon it’s vital to have your wedding videotaped, because you’re able to relive the moments word-for-word and movement for movement. You’ll always be able to go back to the wedding video and relive exactly what the best man said in his speech or the couple’s first kiss. Also, in years to come, grown-up relatives will pass away. In a video, they’ll live on and you’ll be able to hear their voice or their laughter again.

Pictures alone can’t do any of that.

We had a videographer and he did a mucho EXCELLENT job.

It’s fantastic watching our first dance and noticing the reactions of different people. You will be amazed at the time spent on just watching that, let alone the ceremony, cake cutting, general dancing, etc.

I highly urge getting a videographer!

You can capture everything just as it happens and then in future watch it back, that’s always fun to do :) also if you have a fight with your husband it’s excellent to play back and remind him of how special you really are :)

Here’s the thing, you’re really not going to remember much about your wedding day with nerves and all that. I barely remember walking at my high school graduation just 5 years ago! You want a videographer so you can remember everything your brain caused you to miss. Besides, don’t you want to show your wedding to your kids one day? :)

I originally wasn’t going to have a videographer.

Then my fiance’s mother didn’t take care of herself properly and her doctor told her she wasn’t well enough to travel so my fiance wanted the wedding videotaped so we could send it to his mom afterwards.

To be honest, my guy was very non-forward. I never knew he was there. I felt like a celebrity with paparazzi due to the photographers an

Its up to you. Question to see friends or even go online and see if anyone streamed wedding videos. I do photography and its a very stressful but worthwhile job. I like shooting wedding. If you can find an affordable wedding videographer, go with a photographer too. Not because I am one (that I’m saying this) but sometimes you’d be amazed what you’ll see in photos that you don’t get with a video.

Most want one to remember their wedding years down the road after the dress, the cake, and the decorations are gone. To show their family and their grand kids someday. Its just to have a memory of your wedding forever.

JUST CHECK YOUR VIDEOGRAPHER OUT! The one that was at the first wedding I shot was HORRIBLE! He did an dreadful job. I saw two videos he had done, and they were horrendous. He was climbing on the gorgeous tables with white table cloths getting them dirty. the staff had to change them several times. He stepped in front of the kiss shot and I finished up missing it. He literally jumped aptly infront of me, told me HE was in succession the show, and was a total pest. He really went up to the bride and groom after I questioned to speak with him, and told them I was yelling at him! He came to the wedding in a dirty untucked black polo shirt, wrinkled khakis and dirty sneakers falling apart. (It was formal) It was dreadful. He was a jerk. They still 9 months later didn’t have their video yet.

Question for references, a portfolio, and pricing frank. Don’t let them talk you into a package you can’t afford, and be real about what you want.

Anyone you hire be they a photographer, videographer, or both, make sure they know to stay out of the way. I try my toughest to stay out of the couple’s faces, out of the way, and still capture everything. Its not hard. (I saw someone saying we’re like paparazzi) That video guy I was talking about was pushing the camera in the couples faces, and had cameras all over the floor that people tripped over. CHECK YOUR REFERENCES!

It really is wonderful to have a video of the wedding! Even if, don’t bother getting a professional! Just get a more distant family member or friend to do it.
You don’t need the huge fancy ‘movie-style’ video, just someone to tape the ceremony and parts of the reception.
We really look at ours at least once a year. It’s way different than seeing photos.
