    It’s certainly not necessary to hire a professional, but it IS really nice to have it filmed. Get a trusted friend, or a farther away family member to do at least the ceremony and reception program. We had two people do ours - one a family friend, the other a cousin - then the two filmings were combined into one.
    It’s very special to see it on video - pictures are lovely, of course. After a few years of being married, we started watching it once a year on our anniversary!

    just have someone you know do it. you want to save as much money as possible. i know what you mean i couldnt find someone to take pics and one of my excellent friends happened to know a lil about pics from a previous job and she did it for me. and besides i reckon that the pics are more vital than the video.

    that’s the same quote i was getting when i was looking into maybe getting a videographer.
    I’m not getting a videographer always in my family there are family members who videotape all our special events. Plus i’m not worried about the video as long as my pictures are fantastic and i have a gorgeous album is all i care about.
