i don’t reckon you need a ticket to do preparation. You should take courses in event preparation. The best thing to do is join your local event plot group. Start small and get clients. Also set up a booth at a wedding show. excellent luck.

    Hi AJ,

You don’t have to be licensed to become a planner but you can become certified. Anyone can really call themselves a wedding planner but it helps if you have the professional title to go along with it, it gives you an edge.

Certainly check out the associations that ChayChay referenced. :) Weddings Gorgeous is the one i got my certification from. You’ll learn all of the etiquette stuff as well as some guidelines to starting your own affair. I also suggest reading an event preparation or wedding preparation book on starting a affair. You can find those at Amazon.com or any other book store.

    Excellent Luck

Get a degree in affair first, specialize in marketing. Then go on to do specialty courses in event preparation.
