What is essential - bride, groom, marriage ticket (some states may still require a blood test, mine doesn’t), officiant, witnesses (usually two, but again different localities may have different rules), location.

    Not required:
    habitual ‘wedding’ dress
    tuxedo
    rings
    bridesmaids or groomsmen
    flowers/decorations
    reception

To find out fees for marriage ticket call your county’s register of deeds - they can also tell you if there is a waiting period or blood test required.

You can run prices based on personal preferences:
    location - church, park, other
reception - do it yourself, catered buffet, full sit down dinner
attire - tux rental, tux buy vs. wearing a touch you own (same with wedding dresses - although they sell some nice ones on ebay - I bought a new one last year for $60 that I used as a halloween costume, couldn’t believe it!)

    Excellent luck with your class!

    Place for the service
    Place for reception
    plants
    Pictures
    Caterer
    Band/DJ
    Dress

Hotel for out of disorder guests

    That sounds fun!

Some things to reckon about are:
Location of wedding (church, park, national forest, beach)
Location of reception (hotel, hall, under tents in the park)
Bride’s dress, groom’s tuxedo, bridesmaid’s dresses, flower girl’s dress, tuxedos for the male attendants and best man.
Food for the reception, wine, cake, etc
Entertainment for the reception (band, DJ, etc)
Decorating the reception and the wedding (candles, flowers, ribbons, etc)

The best thing would be to buy or check out a wedding preparation book, or get a few wedding magazines. They are full of all kinds of thoughts and things to reckon about when preparation a wedding.

    Hope this helps!

Sounds like fun, certainly go to the library or bookstore and look at some of the wedding preparation books (Martha Stewart has a fun organizer thing) Also you could set up a wedding website for your "couple" at weddings.com. Also http://www.theknot.com is very helpful for alternative out sites, photog, etc.

I’m getting married next summer you need to get dresses yours, bridesmaids, & flower girls. tuxes for groom, groomsmen, ushers, and your fathers. flowers for the boquets, buteniers, focal top pieces. you have to get a photographer sign a contract saying exactly what you will get how many pictures and what kind of poses you want. a d.j. once again you need a contract stating exactly what music is going to be avalable and which songs you are going to play. you havr to pick a song for you and your husband to dance to, the dollar dance, father daughter dance. book a hall and a church, limos if you want. you need a caterer, again contract saying when they will be there setting up the food exactly what food is to be served. where to get your hair done, and all your acccesories.invitations need to be sent out. i reckon that’s everything

Are you on a budget for your class? If not, fantastic!

You can go to the Knot.com for a very detailed list of everything that needs to be done for a wedding. You can customize it for what your teacher expects from you, and then check them off the list as you "plot" them!

Please tell me you’re not a BYU student????

  12. Etiquette Gal says:

Get a cheap copy online or borrow from the library the book: Miss Manners on Weddings. You’ll get mega extra confidence points for having apt etiquette for everything.

  13. Patricia D says:

Well, the simplest way to do this is go and buy a marriage magazine or two. You’ll have pictures of the different types of wedding attire as well as information on budgets, rings, reception thoughts, guest favours…pretty much everything you may need for this project of yours.

  14. nanny says:

Jessica, I’m a teacher and have to tell you this is really not the best place to do your research. You will have much more accurate and honest information from doing interviews with people in your family, friends, neighbours, etc., as well as book research, or net research. Just a suggestion for you….

  15. BrideToBe says:

Try looking at the free preparation guides at http://www.customweddingsolutions.com They should have everything you need. They have lists for attendant duties, a month by month preparation guide and some others that will help you.

PLUS they sell accessories and gifts and invites so you can get some thoughts and prices there too.
