If you just place DJ in the Brands box and then your city and disorder it will provide you a local listing of DJs along with reviews from families/brides who have used that service.
go to http://www.weddingwire.com/ and place in the name of the town or city and click on dj in "find" box. you will get a screen with the names, addresses and websites for many many djs in your area. there will be in small blue letters a link that says "reviews" next to each one. if you click on that, you can read reviews about that dj from other people who have used them so you can make an informed choice.
most wedding vendors like djs do not bother to join the better affair bureau and if they are not members, the only thing the bbb can do is tell you whether or not there have ever been any complaints lodge against them. user reviews are a much better way to find excellent vendors.
