A cheapie wedding! That’s an simple one. There are plenty of thoughts:

To start, you can buy dozens of cheap disposable cameras for a tiny fraction of the cost of a professional photographer. Not only will the guests have fun taking shots (and feeling more caught up for helping you confirmation your wedding), but you’ll get hundreds of fun shots that most photographers wouldn’t dream of.
Many churches have fellowship hall accomodations for cheap. There are also cheap halls and outdoor areas that are very affordable. While they might not seem the most wedding forthcoming places…the guests are there for the couple, not the room. No one remembers the hall afterwards except it was nasty or ridiculously high end.
Have family help with the cooking. Most home cooking is better than catered food anyway.
The small things that most people fret about usually go unnoticed. While those pretty napkins are so cool to you, other people are just going to wipe their mouths with them. Chair covers are sat on. Etc. Don’t go crazy.

People remember three things about weddings: whether or not they had fun, if the food was excellent, and if they got sloshed. So get excellent food, excellent entertainment and liquor (the bartender can suck, people get plenty drunk off terribly mixed drinks), and the guests will rave more about this wedding, even if it’s in a bingo hall, than they will the swanky banquet focal top that had half cooked food and half an hour of dancing.

Go to your nearest thrift store and find an grown-up vintage dress and have a seamstress alter it a bit. Add some beads and tulle train or fabric.

You can decorate cheaply and perfectly with cheap sheer curtains tied in bows and place a silk rose and babies breath in the knot of the bow.

Have the wedding in your local disorder park and the recption can be potluck except the cake.

    Reckon outside of the store!

This website really helped me plot my wedding. It has articles, vendor listings, products, thoughts, etc… In addition, it also has a preparation feature. I reckon that your friend would really find this site helpful and charming.
What is especially nice about this site is that after you are married, you can follow owing to with their other website http://www.thenest.com (I hope I have that take up aptly). It gives you adivce on fiscal preparation, home tips, cooking, after-wedding tips, and much more that you never knew (or never knew you should know).
http://www.weddingchannel.com is also brilliant. Although, I didn’t use this one as much.
The Martha Stewart Weddings website has some fantastic do-it-yourself and etiquitte thoughts. If you are wondering about "how to do" anything, check here.
http://www.ultimatewedding.com is also a decent website.
I bought my favors off of an ebay store. They specialized in wedding favors. Shop around on ebay. Another suggestion is http://www.favorwarehouse.com.
    Hope this helps!

I’d suggest going to just regular craft stores and searching what they have. Most have a small wedding section that can at least be helpful.

As for like favors and decorations and such i’m using
    orientaltrading.com

They have a wedding section there but also a ton of other bulk things that don’t fit the wedding section but are perfect for weddings. So i’d take a look at them.

As for dresses, David’s Marriage is by far the cheapest dresses you can find for bridesmaids as well as a lot of marriage gowns and they are excellent quality. All the dresses for my girls as well as my gown are all from them.

For invites and programs, as well as responce and thank you cards check out "Invitations By Dawn.com" they are online major place that does things for a really cheap price. I had my responce cards done there for 1/2 the price that the place i orderd my invites wanted.

For food you could have maybe a few family memebers that are excellent cooks all agree to make a dish or 2 each for the wedding and have kind of a pot luck theme.
And for the cake, they can get crazy expensive. So i’d suggest a small decoration cake that you use for pictures and the ceremonial cutting of the cake. Then for guests you have a plain sheet cake that has the similar filling so that they don’t notice that they didnt’ get the same cake.

Feel free to email me if you need anymore help. I’m still preparation my wedding for this August.
    Excellent Luck!

If the date hasn’t been set in stone, consider getting married on a weekday instead of a Saturday-we saved a TON of money on hall rental, etc. by getting married on a Thursday. Plus, photographers and other service providers are usually really pleased to have the extra weekday affair and may cut you a deal. Other suggestions would be to make the invitations yourselves, just do an appetizer and cake reception, use silk flowers instead of real for the decorations, and the suggestions above. Excellent luck.

I’m in a similar situation with my budget wedding. One of my greatest resources has been ebay, make sure you check out the ebay stores, too. Not only have I gotten some fantastic thoughts, they have everything I need at excellent prices.
Excellent luck and congrats to your friend!

There are lots of excellent books out there that can help you with creative thoughts. The Knot website is also full of fantastic resources. Some of your wedding supplies and accessories can be found on ebay or try http://www.gratitudeology.com Hope this helps and best of luck to you!

    I suggest visiting http://www.weddinglenox.com or onewed.com

Unlike most golden-haired pages, they have price comparison for the vendors (DJ,videographer, florist, and photographer) you can choose.

You can also try Weddinglenox matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/f-membersignup1.php that will match you up with local vendors. I tried it and have excellent result as I only recieved responses from vendors according to my request.

One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that’s too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.

The sites I provide above have a simple to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the aptly price.
