If you don’t have a Blu-ray disc player, you will be watching this in standard definition anyway. I am really surprised that you questioned for HD instead of a normal DVD that you can show anywhere. Does the mother of the bride expect a copy? does she have a Blu-ray player?

yes that will be fine…. you wont notice any difference… and the higher the quality the higher the file size… you get films in 720p, it will be fine.

If you get it on Blu-Ray, it will look incredible. 720p and 1080i both look fantastic. 1080i has more lines, but it’s interlaced so therefore will only show 540 "new" lines at any one moment. 720p has fewer lines, but they’re all showed at the same time. Each has its pluses and minuses, but both look really fantastic. There really is no "higher quality" format. 720p and 1080i are both fantastic formats that are different, like comparing apples to oranges. For example, ESPN uses 720p, while Discovery uses 1080i. Can’t go incorrect either way.

Now, if you’re getting it on DVD or some format that isn’t HD, then you’ll be watching it in standard definition (480i or 480p) anyway, no matter what it was shot in.
