How much time does that get you?

We are paying $700 in small town in West Virginia for 6 hours of service. Each extra hour is $100. This is in March.

Also keep in mind that June is a VERY busy wedding month & alot of venders bring to somebody’s attention prices for summer months. My location charges nearly double between late May owing to mid-September. Cake prices also go up in my area duing this time. A DJ may charge more in these months as well. If this is a DJ that you know or that you know does excellent work, it may be very well worth the expense. You can take up again to look around the next day or so, just to get prices, but I’d suggest booking a touch soon for a June wedding.

Yes because that is alot but if you heard how they paly and you reckon they are fantastic and money isnt an come forth than go for it. excellent luck!!

Our DJ cost $600.00 in 1994 and we got married in the Midwest. It all depends on how excellent the DJ is and make sure you get at least 4 other quotes you will find a cheaper one but are they any excellent.

    I like your glasses!

That is certainly on the upper end. He better be really excellent for that price.

Question for some references and make sure you call them.

Find out what he does in the event he is ill. Who is his back up?

Does he have a second set of equipment in his van should a touch malfunction.

Dress code - what does he wear?

    Does he have indemnity?

What is his music selection like?

I’m from Chicago, I paid $450 for my DJ. And he’s really excellent, and professional. I’d suggest keep looking. Don’t open the golden-haired pages or anything like that cuz those are the ones that rip you off. Go by word of mouth, question around, co-workers, family, ect. The guy that we got has been a dj since high school, and he has evolved his dj leisure activity so much it’s a career, so you never know.

WOW. I am fron the NYC metro area and 1200 is really REALLY high for around here and things are generally way more expensive in this area.

What are you getting for 1200? Illumination, video screens etc or just basic Dj and emcee stuff.

Shop around, except you are getting some awesome extra features thats too much.

I am paying $1100 for a well-known, well-established DJ for six hours in the MA/NH area. The place I’m using (A Excellent Time DJ’s) has a wide range of prices, from $300 for four hours (haven’t done any/many weddings) to $1500 for four hours. Ours cost $900 for 4 hours, and $100 per hour overtime. The place I’m using is based in Salem, NH; they travel all over. Of course, you have to figure in travel costs (we live accurate enough where there isn’t any). For $1200, I hope you have a very excellent and veteran DJ. If so, then yes it is a honest price.

he better be DJ Kid Capri or a touch… tell them to kick rocks!

  12. Blunt says:

That sounds about aptly for a June wedding. Make sure to check what your are getting for the money. For $1200 you should get at least 4 hours of an veteran DJ, illumination, transportation, and tax.

    Excellent luck

1200 does sounds high to me but that depends on the band i would reckon. if you are getting a high quality band and money isn’t a problem i would say go for it. i say it’s your wedding so you should do what you want!!

  14. VAWeddingSpecialist says:

That is a pretty honest price for a wedding in June … that is certainly high season so you’re lucky you aren’t paying more than $1,500 to start with. The length of your reception matters as well, so that might depend on the pricing. Most vendors are going to have a minimum during high season, even if, so you’re better off booking that DJ.

that seems about mean to less than mean in NJ. Maine and NH are nicer too so you may be getting a bargin. Shop around.
