If your budget permits, look to see if anyone rents out Photo-booths in your area.

I really want to do this, but I just don’t have it in my budget.

The place I was looking at rents photo-booths where the pictures come out on sticker photo paper. This could even go with your photo sign in book thought!

    Excellent Luck.

congratulations and delight in the preparation administer! it can get hectic…

I am getting married this June, and we are also having an evening, outdoor reception…

white illumination!! after Christmas ‘08 be sure to hit the day after sales for decorations (I bought 20 boxes of white illumination for 20 bucks!!)

"candles"…I found a lot of lanterns on ebay- I have 20 different ones, I will use LED illumination instead of candles

we have several trees in the back yard with enough branches to hang lanterns and we are also stringing crystals (found a bag of 50 at a craft store for 4.00)

thats a bit of what we’re doing- feel free to email me and I can give you more detail

You could always have swans brought in…….like in Father of the Bride.
Or do a touch with sparklers, since it’s at night & outside.
Have fun and be creative, I’m sure it will be memorable ;-)

A lot of photographers will also take your date picture and blow it up and then place a not glossy frame around it for people to sign on, then you can hang your guest book/date picture up afterwards.

The best wedding I ever went to was in a person’s back yard. They had a huge back yard and the caterers set up a ceremony area using the same chairs that would later be set around the tables. It was all tented so even if the weather had been crappy, we would have been covered.
The gift for the guests was a baby pine tree wrapped in burlap with a pretty ribbon/card.
The bride wore a gorgeous plain white dress for the ceremony/dinner and then for the dancing, she (in some way) untied the skirt of the dress and it became a mini-dress. It was brilliant.
The caterers served lamb, but you could have a regular served or buffet BBQ (which my brother did).
It helped that they had the most perfect weather and the marrying couple were gorgeous - sigh.

Make your own or have someone cheap make your invitations . http://www.freewebs.com/felica.....ointer.htm
Have a theme for your reception but not too tacky.
Have homemade favours or send them before hand on your invitations, (cheaper)
Make your first dance different from the habitual, see you tube for thoughts (wedding dances)
Have a unique dress. Instead of having wedding gifts, have guests make a donation to a local charity.
Just a few thoughts for you.

Are you committed to a "habitual" wedding? I know you said unique but unique to some people is walking down the aisle alone…

I went to a fantastic one - outside in the people - the food was homemade buffet contributed by family members (no cost) - there was also a bon-fire (no cost) and trampoline (the bride’s parents owned it already) - everyone was having so much fun and many people pitched tents and camped out.

I know a couple that threw a costume party and showed up as bride and groom - everyone thought it was a hoot - they didn’t know it was a wedding until the couple were really getting married - the pressure of a formal wedding is gone when people are dressed in costumes rather than gowns.

I wanted a "white trash wedding" walking down the aisle (outside) to Dixie Chicks - pink flamingos - aisle outlined in small white fencing - a twinkie wedding cake (don’t laugh the twinkie cook book has one)

How about a server pushing around a small pushed ancient fashion ice cream cart either during the cocktail hour or during the party (after meal). It can be pre-made mini ice cream cones on the inside, or the diversity you get from an ice cream truck or they can scope out cones. The minis might be best because they are generally bite size so less messiness. Trying to reckon about summer. How about lightening bug jars? Mason jars with holes in the top and a ribbon around the jar and a note inviting guests to catch lightening bugs, kids would get a kick out of it, just have a friend release them at the end. Instead of a champaign bar, how about an iced tea lemonaid bar? Huge containers of plain ice tea and lemonaid and then a selection of fresh fruit and syrups so guests can make their own flavored ice tea and lemonaid.

Stop worrying so much about making your wedding "unique". Weddings have been happening for hundreds of years so there really aren’t any thoughts left out there that nobody has seen before, especially in today’s wedding world. Instead concentrate on throwing a fantastic party that everybody can delight in with excellent food, music, and drink. That’s what your guests care about.

This is the only wedding with you as the bride and your fiance as the groom. Yes, another bride may have chosen purple as her color but no two brides make EVERY detail the same. That in and of itself makes your wedding unique.

You want guests walking away talking about what a fantastic time they had and how the wedding was a perfect reflection of you two as a couple. You don’t want them walking into the wedding and wondering if they got the incorrect location because the wedding is nothing like you. Some people aren’t "unique" and that’s perfectly fine.

These were the coolest favors I ever got at a wedding. My husband’s cousin had these, they are ‘plantable paper seeds’ The seeds are imbedded into the paper and then cut out in to various shapes - intricate butterflys, fireflys, hearts, wedding cakes, etc.

Lots of luminarias to line walk ways

Just a couple of thoughts… Excellent Luck!

If you are looking for a unqiue way to remember your event but don’t want to use the habitual guest book option - you might want to look at an instant photo guest book from http://www.instantalbums.com.au - they are really fun for guests and capture the moment really well! Excellent luck.

They have a gorgeous candle light marriage bouquet at BEEBOWS NET for night weddings. They have nice affordable decorations there. Also you could use glow product to illuminate the tables, etc.
