$15K doesn’t sound all that cheap to me. Just make a list of your priorities (open bar, excellent photographer), and a list of things that aren’t vital to you (favors, live music,), and budget accordingly. You can easily drop a thousand on small extra nothings, like favors, programs, unity candles, and matching napkins.

  2. lovely says:

make your ceneter pieces. by stuff online.

  3. mushka says:

take the 15 thou and elope and spend it on yourselves

  4. Blunt says:

Most of your budget will go to food and liquour.
Catering companies will charge you an arm and a leg for chicken and potatoes, you can shop around before deciding on which company to chose. See if your favorite restaurant will cater, you can get better food for way less.

Venues: Wedding venues are expensive. You can save money by getting married on unconvetional places: golf clubs, rose gardens, public parks, art galleries, college grounds, bed and greakfast etc. have gorgeous places and will rent the space for way less than a wedding venue or a hotel ball room.

plants> If you are a crafty person or know of someown with artistic abilities, you can buy the flowers in bulk online or walmart, costco, publix etc. and arrange them yourself. Yes, it;s a lot of work, but will will save you a lot of money.

Invitations. If you have a nice printer at home, you can buy a DIY kit at ACMoores, walmart, hobbie lobby etc.

Get married on a Friday or Sunday. Cheaper rates for DJ and photographers and venues.

Get married off season (not May-august) Get the venue of your dreams half-price

Do no spend a lot of money on centerpieces or favors. People will not remember them.

Favors. Go for edibles. Trinkets and cheap useless junk will end up in the trash.

Personalized junk: Useless, is a waste of money

Decor: Dollar stores will be the best option for candle holders and candles and other miscellaneaous decor items.
Programs: Who needs them? No body ever cares about them or keeps them. Total waste of money.

You don’t "have to " have 8 bridesmaids or unity candles or useless guests books with ridicoulous feathered pens. That is a waste of money.

    DJ. Shop around!!!!!!

Photography: Never go cheap here. You will unhappiness ot if you do.

Cut back on the guest list. Invite only the people that you really care about, not everyone that you know. Cut back on coworkers, gym acquantainces, neighbors etc.

    Limo: You don’t need it.

Cake: Pretty vs. Savory. Supermarket cake looks just as excellent as the designer bakeries. You can cut hundreds of dollars. You will be suprised at the beaitiful designs available. They may taste like cup cakes, but who likes wedding cake anyway.

    Excellent luck

Congradulation first. I do not know where you are living now. But I suggest you can buy your wedding gown owing to http://www.makingmemories.org/.....ancer.html. It has tons of designer wedding gown you can brilliant . Most of the events start in August and in many states. All the income they receive is for foundation of Breast Cancer.

For my wedding to keep it cheap I am buying my flowers from Safeway and doing my own bouquets. And another way to cut cost is to not use flowers as your focal top pieces. We are doing some with Bettas and some with floating candles. Go to a local beach and get some sand and maybe some shells and some votive candles and make your focal top pieces that way. Excellent luck to you.

    -KEEP THE GUEST LIST SMALL
-Avoid expensive hotel ballrooms/people clubs and have your reception someplace unique (a park, wine vineyard, backyard, museum…)
-Skip the silly things that add up instant, like favors. Most guests leave just leave them behind or throw them away.
    -Make your own invitations
-Avoid floral centerpieces…they’re very expensive and very dull. Try a touch unique (I’m decorating $5 glass oil lanterns)
    -Keep it local

$15,000 is plenty of money to have a gorgeous wedding. Determine what is most vital to you (be it that you NEED to have that $2000 dream dress, or an open bar, or a fancy tropical honeymoon) and don’t skimp on that. You don’t want to look back on your wedding and be disappointed that you skimped on the stuff that truly meant a touch to you.

Just cut out or limit the stuff that you don’t really want or need. No one is going to remember what the chair covers looked like, so don’t bother with them!

    Best of luck!

While $15,000 isn’t cheap, I can tell you how to bring it down to a few hundred. Borrow a dress. If you are a member of a church, the weddings are usually free. Use fake flowers. No one will care or even remember, anyway, if you used real or fake. Go to your local grocery store for a cake. We rented a volunteer fire dept hall for $20. The ladies in our church made the food. Finger foods. We had a very nice wedding for a grand total of $400 in 2002, and celebrated our fifth anniversary yesterday. We’ll really do the celebrating next weekend, when I have off.

Stephi Stewarts e-book is fantastic. You can get a free 30 day trial if you don’t want to buy it.

Don’t worry too much about "unique". If you tailor it to YOUR personalities it will be unique because no couple is just like you. So what if you aren’t the first bride to use chocolate brown as a wedding color or have leaf candies as your favor? You don’t want guests walking owing to the door and wondering if they came to the aptly wedding because they don’t see you anywhere. Repeated thoughts are repeated because they are usually pretty excellent thoughts.

  12. Mandy P says:

go for silk flowers. Pomander balls and flower girl halos are really in.

  13. mamatucker says:

Do as much as you can do yourself. I bought a lot of stuff off ebay, keep up with what you bought.(I lost things, and had to reorder) (found later) I would also check out the caterer, and make sure there are no hidden costs.
