We’re not having a DJ, either. Luckily, our reception room is equipped with an iPod or computer hook-up, so that’s what we’re using, and our wedding day coordinator will be stopping and starting the first dance song. Other than that, we just let the iPod roll all night long, and beforehand, are wisely arranging and timing the playlists so that the cocktail hour goes with the music, same for dinner and dancing, etc.
For small weddings, I honestly reckon DJs are a waste of money. To me, the only purpose they supply is to not have to worry about varying the music, and to get people to dance. My family is an instant party, so I don’t need someone encouraging people to dance, and we had no problem with putting in the extra effort to make our own playlists and coordinating music.
Save the money and do your own music. Just have a dependable friend or family member announce the first dance and play the song when you’d like.
A stereo lol. I hired a DJ even with having only about 50 guests just for that reason. Plus he finished up being really excellent going from what part of the wedding to the next.
I reckon you should play music in stead of having a dj.I’m pretty sure people will dance. How can a wedding be fun without music anyway
Have an Ipod or maybe a laptop with all your music on it start the music with the song you choose as your first dance and then leave it on mix up for the rest of the reception. Or after the dance stop the music but I reckon it’d be nice to have some background music for your reception.
Even if you don’t want to pay for a DJ, it might be a excellent thought to still have some music. It adds to the ambiance, plus then people will at least have the option to dance. You could always make a nice huge playlist for your wedding and set up your computer with some speakers or your place your IPOD on a player and play music that way.
As far as your first dance, pick a nice song, set it up on the computer/ipod/cd player and question your maid of honor or one of your accurate family member or friends to start the song for you.
I have a band coming in in the evening but I will certainly be having a first dance with my new husband, we are having a sound system so that we can play some music during the meal so will be using this.
Dont miss out its part of the tradition, excellent luck.
Bring a cd player with you (radio) and bring the song you want ot play and dance away. It doesn’t cost anything and you get to have your dance.
u could use like a laptop if one is accessable and make a playlist and just have a family member help u out with pushing play or pausing for announcements or what not… excellent luck!!
have a singer or someone playing an instrument. A relative or friend.
