Hi Nunya,
I know what you are feeling. Let me tell you that the first thing you need to do, is organize by yourself what really is the wedding you have in your head. Is it huge or small. Family and accurate friends or the whole church, family and friends. And then if you want it to be simple, habitual or Exaggerated. I went to med school and I got engaged a year before my graduation, crazy me, I chose to get married the day after graduation.
6 months before the wedding I went to the tailor, picked out the fabric for my dress and all the decor to it. I had it custom made too. She cut all the layers but didn’t accurate it up until 3weeks before the wedding, because we were all worried I would gain or lose weight. 2 months before the wedding I went to a bakery and picked out my own cake and had them deliver it. Picked my rings out with my now husband 2 weeks before the wedding.
I chose to have a simple but elegant decoration with calla lilies, you can call a florist 1 month before the wedding to see if your favorite flowers are available to order the daylight of the wedding if the wedding is in the afternoon or the day before if its in the daylight. Then what helped me the most picked your best friends and really trust in your family (specially mom) to help you out with decorations. I bought mine in Joann’s.
If your getting married by church maybe that’s step # 1 or get information from the civil registry or If you are having a reception, and you don’t have a huge backyard then maybe you can start now to call and rent a room to have it, or if its in the summer, then maybe a park, you can contact the park administration to find out if its possible. Work with chairs, tables, table cloths and decorations. I did it on my church’s backyard and it was just magical.
It pretty much depends on the person you are, I chose to have mine simple and white and I was relaxed the whole time. Never forget your souveneirs which pretty much you can buy made and also I mailed my own wedding invitations and printed them out with gorgeous gold ink.
Most vital and maybe the only thing I did make sure i had was a professional photographer and video. They made my simple wedding look faboulus by captivating the gorgeous moments. I hope my answer helps you and i know it’s doubtless as extensive as everything you found online. Organizing a wedding can be simple or stressful, it pretty much depends on you. Congratulations.

or

(: girl im trying to do the same thing!
GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS (:
You can start preparation wedding by booking the location or venue for the wedding. Then go on to other items step by step
How exciting! congrats..
I plotted my wedding in 8 months.. its simple!!
What you will need first off is a note book!
List everything you want everything you need and start keeping pics/notes in there you like.. keep that book with you EVERYWHERE.. cause you never know when inspiration about a detail of your wedding will strike! Then all you gotta do is buy.. book where u want ur date/wedding/reception.. we had no problem booking the marriot last small.. there are always cancelations..
Your dress is done, depending how much money you have do your own make up or go to the shops, usually david jones girls do it cheap.
Book your cars, Hire out the guys tux then pick out a cake.. it can be done in a week all going smoothly.. which it usually never does.. but still the basics are
Cars, guys suits, your dress, cake, flowers, reception, wedding ceremony… all the other small details like illumination/ glitter ect.. are up to you to have or not!
itll be simpler just write down things that you want or may like for your wedding and just go step by step it always better to know you have things done before time and not having to things at the last small and not having the wedding you wanted. if its simpler for you just hire someone thatll make it so much simpler for you.
Start now.
Quest on Wedding Etiquette. Read enough so that you have different choices to contemplate. Set up a time line based on what you want to do.
First step is to get a boyfriend.
go to a site called simple weddings and become a member, its free. it has everything on there you may need and a to do list, suggested sites for dresses, caterer… absolutely everything!
Excellent Luck
Hey,
I’m getting married in 7 months too and only got engaged a few weeks ago so I know exactly how you feel.
First thing I did was work out the budget then choose the reception and ceremony venue. The reception is the most trying thing to book because in my experience, most places were booked out for a Saturday night on the date we wanted. It didn’t matter even if because the place we fell in like with was free on the night we wanted so we booked that.
Then you need to choose your ceremony venue and who you want to officiate it. I’ve booked the ceremony venue but not the celebrant yet (doing interviews at the moment).
Next choose a photographer - also really vital.
Choose colour scheme
My list is now:
Dress (I’m getting mine made too so have chosen the style but haven’t chosen the fabric yet)
Bridesmaid dresses (I’m also getting it made but haven’t bought anything for it yet but have chosen the style)
Wedding rings
Save the dates
Invitatations
plants
Cake
Cars
I am following the fantastic to do list at http://www.easyweddings.com.au. It’s an Australian side but it has a very comprehensive list. I’ve also heard http://www.theknot.com and http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/ are fantastic US based sites to plot a wedding. Excellent luck and most importantly, have fun!
First you need to choose on a budget. How much are you wanting to spend? Next you need to start compiling a guest list. What kind of wedding do you want? Sit down with your fiance and discuss what’s vital and what’s not so vital.
*budget
*guest list
*bridesmaids and groomsmen
*look for wedding venues
*invitations
*color theme
*start looking for florists, photographers, djs, caterers, rental companies for chairs, linens, tables, ect
*what time of day do you want to have the wedding
*look at bridesmaids dresses
There are a lot more.
for a complete list check out theknot.com or weddingwire.com
Best of luck and Congrats!
Congrats.
yes there are 101 things to do but if you plot very well - you will be organised for your huge day and also will have no stress.
