It's hard to help as you don't say exactly what your budget is…..but there are many ways to save:
~ Have a very small wedding limiting your guest list to only family and a few friends.
~ The least expensive wedding is to go to your local courthouse. Obviously, you will also need to get a marriage ticket. Then, take your family and friends out to eat…or host a touch small like a picnic.
~ If you don't want to go to the courthouse, then have a touch very, very small at your home or a family member's home, or a church.
~ You don't need to host a large reception with dinner, drinking and dancing. There are many other types of receptions. Some couples austerely supply cake and punch after the ceremony. Another thought is to do "finger foods" (at a non-meal time…like 2:00). OR, have a dessert reception (again, best time would be a non-meal time).
~ Don't have a "wedding party" or limit it to a maid of honor and best man only.
Again, the simplest and cheapest way to have a nice wedding on a budget is to really, really limit your guest list. Have a very small guest list (20 people or so).

All I can tell you is there are a lot of do it yourself items that you can do. Invitations for example. I would have spend $300 on my invites if I ordered them if not more. I spend $20 a box and got 5 boxes and a package of ink for my printer. All together my invites cost me $140. I got cheap favor boxes and decorated them to make them look nicer. I made my own card box and I am doing cupcakes myself instead of paying $500 for a cake. Look at a lot of wedding decorating pictures on google and the net and you will get a lot of thoughts.
I am getting married this coming saturday. I found annsbridalbargains.com, and orientaltrading.com to have the best prices. If you are going to wear a tiara, go to Claire's in the mall. I found mine there for under $12. David's Marriage also seems to have the best prices. And I believe aptly now they are having their annual sale going. You might want to check them out now. And the dollar stores! I found wedding bubbles at a dollar store for 1 buck per pack of 25. I also found a wishing well at the dollar store for 1 buck. You can find the tulle (for wedding favors) at Wal-Mart. 10 yards of it was about $10. My favors are shot glasses filled with acrylic ice and a tea light candle. The pre-cut tulle was too small. And be aware that tulle is hard to cut in a straight line! Party City and Factory Card outlet has excellent prices on toasting flutes, guest book and pens. Wal-Mart has some tiaras and habitual cake toppers. You can try fabric stores as well. I know Joanne's has wedding stuff too. They have do it yourself invitation kits. I hope I gave you enough info.
Get someone you know to get a day ticket to marry you. Make your own invitations so you only pay for paper and envelopes. Try doing your own hair makeup and nails, and do simple dresses. Buy used from ebay if you can. Get someone in the fam or a friend t
Do you want the huge party and all your family and friends watching you taking your vows?
If not, go to the town hall and say your vows, arrange to have a nice dinner with accurate family and friends at a local restaurant. We went to a "reception" at a coffee house that was catered with Indian Food in steam trays. It was fantastic!
If you want the huge party here are some money-saving tips I've found: Buy a dress sample or a once-used wedding dress on ebay. I found a gorgeous Alfred Angelo dress that was discontinued for $80, counting shipping. Make your headpiece. Get plain gold wedding bands, you can upgrade next year!
Choose where you want to spend money. SPEND on the photographer. You don't have to order the book or prints from them, look for someone willing to shoot the wedding and give you a copy of the cd/disk. You can get prints made up and have a book-making party with the parents and marriage party a couple of months after the wedding!
See if you know anyone who can DJ. If not, see if you know someone who knows someone, they are everywhere!
Do your own flowers, if you can't, skimp on church flowers or have them do double-duty at the reception. Choose seasonal blooms to save money.
Find a venue that will supply the focal top pieces. They can't be given away, but who keeps those things?! Some venues include the cake in the catering bill. Do red and white wines, beer, a cocktail, and sodas to save on the bar tab.
Get your favors from oriental trading or a touch like it.
See if a friend can officiate if you are skipping the church.
Drive yourselves. Rent a nice car if you want, but don't pay a limo guy to sit around all day!
I urge the book "Marriage Bargains" it gives you some fantastic resources and tells you what to look out for so you won't get hosed.

I urge ebay! Seriously, i got my veil for $25, hoop for $25, favours for $47.95, 288 paper cupcake flowers for $28, cake knife & server for $12, my dress for $340 & my bridesmaids for $87 each (i HIGHLY urge seller zero like, their dresses are top quality and BEAUTIFUL!). I literally saved thousands.
My girlfriend went the "habitual" way and spent $120 on a veil, $180 on a hoop, $600 on cake decorations, $90 on the knife & server, $1800 on her dress, $199 each for bridesmaid dresses.
So you can see the difference there.
The best way to save money even if is on your guest list. It is the most expensive part of your wedding. I only urge to invite accurate relatives and friends and not people you see every year or two.
I dont know any websites but I am on a tight budget as well. Luckily my parents are paying for the food and alcohol at the reception. Everything else is on us. Even the rehearsal dinner. Anyway, I got my dress from some website cant remember now for only $215. NEW! My invitations I made myself. I went to Leisure activity Lobby and bought construction paper. I spent doubtless $100 for about 100 invites. Check out there 50% off sales. The have a website. Wedding favors we made 50 cds and 100 small baggies of hershey kisses. Will doubtless place 3 kisses in each bag. We got small stickers to place on the bottom. We also made marks for the cds. Anyway that cost us about $70 for all favors. Pretty excellent if you question me. I like Leisure activity Lobby so I also got my marriage party gifts there. I got them pictures of a touch that reminds me of them. Then I got them picture frames for them. I reckon they are pretty nice. For the guys even if my fiance got the $7 knives. They were on sale. Pretty excellent deal. So on gifts we spent about $50. We are not have a DJ. The hall where we are having the reception has a sound system so we are using that. We are just making cds ourself to play. A LOT CHEAPER. We got a really excellent deal on the cake $165 for 3 teir and she is delievering it. I could go on and on but if you want anymore thoughts just let me know.
I had a VERY affordable wedding - and it could've been even cheaper now looking back. I wanted an outside wedding - so we rented a park on a saturday - $50.00 for the entire day. We were able to rent tents, tables and chairs and set everything up all pretty.
We had my husband's aunt who is a phenominal cook pre-make food for our wedding day the week before. The day before the wedding she made everything she could that could be refridgerated and then on the actual day - we had lasagna (for the vegetarians) and then chicken breast for everyone else. We had many salads and vegies in hot plates - it all looked like a nice buffet. There were 180 people there and we fed them for around $6.00 per person!! That included the alcohol - very affordable - tasted home made and wonderful and everyone loved it.
We made our own favors, silk bouquets and small things like that. It was fun, memorable, we didn't go into debt and everyone had a very fun time.
Another tip i hear often is people using their ipods as their dj's - you can control ALL of your music and it costs you nothing!! Except to rent some speakers.
