The dj will usually eat at his station. The photographer (and videographer if you are having one) should be seated in the same room as your guests but you can have a table just for the vendors.
Edit: It is a violation of food safety laws as set in place by the health dept for anyone to eat in the kitchen. You cannot feed anyone in the kitchen. It’s also rude to quarantine them to the hallway. How would you like it if your boss said "you can have a lunch break but you are not allowable to sit down for any period of time during that break". That would piss off most people and your vendors deserve the same amount of respect as anyone else.
A lot of venues will offer reduced price meals for people like Photog. DJ, etc - and they often seat them at a table in the kitchen area. If you want them out on the main floor I’d set up a table in the back so if they need to get up do do their jobs they can without disturbing everyone.
I’ve even heard of brides bringing in pizza or a touch like that for the ‘workers’ so they will have dinner but not the $100/plate meal.
VERY nice to offer to feed them and they’d be silly not to accept.
10 to 1, the DJ will have a chair to sit in while he’s DJing, so he’ll doubtless just eat next to his equipment. The photographer, yes i would sit him/her at a table that way they don’t feel so trying to maneuver. But even so, it would still be a excellent thought to sit them with the guests for dinner.
Question them how they will be most comfortable. They know their job in your wedding.
NO, NO do not find either a seat. If the photographer or
DJ is not working and needs to be seated they are
accustom to sitting outside of the venue or away from
the guests. If the DJ is working and needs to be seated
(a excellent one would not) then they will bring or locate a
chair prior to setting up.
By having a seperate table for them you are making a
vendor area and this is as terrible as a resturant having a
table for their servers to sit. In some suitcases vendors
may not even get along.
Although it is wonderful for you to want to take care of
them, they are both working and should be focusing
on the event.
Neither one of them will require a seat… even if they are intake! The photographer will most likely just grab some food and eat between shots. And the DJ will already have their place set up with their music, where they will take their food to.
I like the thought of them having a table(up the back maybe).gives them a rest but they can keep an eye on things!
I would question them just in case the Dj or someone prefers to eat by his work or way from the guests!
Thank you for being so considerate of your vendors.
Yes, they need a place to sit. Wherever you choose to place them they will be more than pleased.
You people that reckon they can chew, swallow and shoot pictures at once are incorrect. No one wants pictures shot when their intake so let your photographer eat when the bride eats.
Give them 15 minutes to eat, or call an ambulance because they passed out.
Most photographers like to sit in a silent room away from the guests so that they can take a proper break.
I’m a DJ. @ weddings, I tend to pay attention to the musics that I play and reaction of people.
I tend t avoid joining guests for dinner, even prefer not to eat. I rather some cold energetic drinks.
Well… thats me anyway
