it would be helpful, you don’t want him to pick what you listen to. And if you have songs you DONT want played like the cheesy ones…macarena, elec. slide…stuff like that, let him know! You want to have a Play list and a Do Not play list.

Yes. My DJ questioned for a complete listing of songs, I place the entrance song, first dance, mother/daughter dance, mother/son dance in order but then just listed all of the other songs and he said by what I listed he can suggest more music based on the genres. I really don’t care about the order of the rest of the music.

    Maybe 10 or 15

The ones you want, give him a list to be sure he has them.
it will also give him an thought of your tastes, and if he’s any excellent
he’ll bring some similar stuff that you might have forgotten.

Most excellent DJs won’t need a full list. If you want to provide a list of songs you want played only for special moments - entrance, first dance, mother son/father daughter, cake, bouquet toss etc. that should be fine. Some people like to choose every song, but if you don’t care at all, it should make the DJs job simpler! One of my friends made a DO NOT PLAY list and let the DJ do his stuff, and they were pleased with the consequences. A excellent DJ knows a excellent mix of songs to get the party going, keep guests dancing etc.

generally yes, but depending on the DJ you can tell him what type music you want other then the specifics like first dance and such and he will play what ever.
