I found a product called perma frost οח pattycakes.com.

I had a friend who’d make fake cakes for her cake decorating classes. She would cover round cake size styrofoam layers.?
Buy some white play doh and cover a round box ….
a friend of mine had all her favor boxes prearranged to look like a cake with 3 tiers and all. hope that helps.
My advice from my experience get lots of the 40% off coupons from the craft stores and buy the wilton fondant kit and styrofoam do everything but the top tier on the top tier cut a piece of Styrofoam off place a Twinkies ( because they hold well) then cover the top tier with fondant place a flow or a touch to let you know where the twinkie is located for the cake cutting . Make the top tier a week or less before the wedding everything else can be done a month so before the wedding. I never heard of perma frost and would be frightened to use a touch for a wedding that i have never used before.
Try styrofoam. You can decorate it like a regular cake with frosting or fondant. You would doubtless have to go to a bakery to get the fondant even if. Or you could talk to a bakery and see if they can do that for you for a small fee.
