Cool- I reckon your thought is awesome!!

Try going to a scrapbooking store with a die cutter.. Maybe you can quickly die cut a bunch of things that would be simple to cut and paste onto the invites.. Also, scrapbooking stores always have die-cuts that are centered around any occassion, and they might even have pre-made cards with pockets.

Dont forget the return envelopes and RSVP cards!!

You might also consider taking a calligraphy class, and learning how to write them out really nicely.. but keep in mind- it is tacky to have a hand written card that is in a printed or labeled envelope.. and depending on how large your guest list is, that might be an dreadful lot of work to do all that writing. (I have heard of people having a 250 person guest list and they called it a small wedding. Also, me and my sister did like 100 invites and it took us the better part of a few weeks to complete them, and we did not hand make ours, lol)- So maybe having them pre-printed will save you a ton of time, also.

I reckon doing a picture can be nice, and it might be simplest and cheaper to get a picture of the two of you printed on some paper that is not photo paper.. It would be really expensive to pay for all those prints.

Another thought you can do is to go get a professional picture of the two of you (me and my hubby did one with glamour shots) and have it framed and matted- and place it on an easel in the front, like a guestbook.. The guests can then sign the photo’s matting, and it is really a nice way to show your wedding memories!

Excellent Luck, and Congrats to the wedding plans!!!

We went to an office supply place and got lovely stationary and printed up the invitations ourselves. :You can do either the typical card style invitation or regular paper with a nice border.

Simple, cheap, and people noticed how nice they were.

I had a friend who layered 3 different colors of thicker paper in the envelope: one piece had the directions, one the actual invite, and one other info/registries - when the envelope was opened there were three different "tabs" with titles on them. She used a pretty font and it looked really nice.

My niece got hers from Michaels, another niece calculated the invitations for her sister’s wedding.

I also like this site where you can order some nice paper to print your invitations on. http://www.paperdirect.com

These are some DIY supplies for wedding invitations. There are also many invitations shown on this site that will give you thoughts on making them yourself: http://bjoyfulinvitations.ccea.....;menu=None

I calculated my own 5" x 7" wedding invitation, reception card and response card at invys.com and chose colors to match a folded enclosure and ribbon that i got at paper source. Since i printed the invitations myself it was not too expensive, and they came out suprisingly well.
